I've got a thing about smells.
Scents rule my life by inspiring me, making me nostalgic, giving me headaches, warning me or even sometimes ruining my plans.
As trivial as it is I cannot simply switch off my nose and go about my day!
When it comes to perfumes I'm prepared to spend a pretty penny on something extravagant.
So you can imagine I was excited when some newly released fragrances came through my letterbox.
The brand itself is Neandertal. But the people behind these scents, the philosophy of the brand and the unique design of bottles are what’s intriguing about it. The history of the brand alongside the list of olfactory elements you can find on the brand's website.
As for me - the perception of the fragrances always relies on my personal feelings and emotions. Aromas bring memories and create associations; they appeal to every sense of me.
That's the moment I fall in love with the perfume (or not).
Light - The fierce mountain stream with sweet icy water; the stinging gusts on the cliff's edge.
Sea salt in locks, the fresh air above the wet foliage.
The loud silence and delirious solitude.
Dark - the evening of the hot summer day: the warmth of the earth, the heat of the rocks,
the smell of smoke from a faraway bonfire,
all the sweetness of the day and softness of the tanned skin.
Stripped of conventions, prejudices or superstitions, Neandertal created aromas of pure instincts and piercing freedom.
I think it's clear, I adore them, and wouldn't be able to choose one over another. The new Neandertal collection, probably the most exciting fragrances I've come across this year: sophisticated, balanced, intriguing and unique.
